5V 1A and 5V 1.9A USB not working on Flashing eMMC

Hi,

I’ve been trying to flash the eMMC with following the instructions on the Getting Started (Update board with latest software) http://beagleboard.org/Getting%20Started#update. I have the SD card created with the
Angstrom-Cloud9-IDE-GNOME-eglibc-ipk-v2012.12-beaglebone-2013.06.20.img. It will boot from the SD card just fine, but I’ve tried using a 5V 1A USB adapter and a 5V 1.9A USB adapter to try and flash the eMMC and neither seem to do the trick (I have read not to use just the computer’s USB when trying to flash the eMMC). I hold the boot button down until all 4 LEDs light up and I’ve let it run for hours and it’s not flashing the eMMC. Does anyone have any ideas on what else to try. I am a newbie to Beaglebone Black, but I’ve been a programmer for over 25 years.

Thanks,

Frank

Did you check the procedure on the support WIKI? http://circuitco.com/support/BeagleBoneBlack? I think you will have better luck there.

Thanks, Gerald.

I guess their Start.html needs to be updated as does the Beagleboard page. Apparently it was just the wrong image. I used BBB-eMMC-flasher-2013.06.20.img.xz and had no problems.

That sure was an awful lot of wasted time, though.

There is a card in the box that the board came in. It has a link on it. That link, is your best friend.

Getting webpages updated, that takes time. Wikis, that takes very little time. We update it as soon as we find anything or anything changes.
