9-bit Protocol on OMAP 35x UART

Does anyone know if the OMAP 35x can support the so-called 9-bit
protocols?

The OMAP series don't support this protocol. I have only seen it in then
microcontrollers mentioned in the article.
Although the idea might be great it never really got any support AFAIK (The
article was dated 1. December 1998 :-).
However still some microcontrollers of the mentioned families support the 9
bit protocol AFAIR.

I think that I2C won the main battle :slight_smile:
