An idea for improvement in future revisions of BB

Well, 1/3 of all RMAs were because 12V was plugged into the board. So, I didn’t want people to keep doing that and wonder why the board was not working even though there was no smoke. So, I gave them their own special LED!

No, we never looked at making a vertical power connector. The whole USB power thing has always been a pain. You can plug in a dummy connector to the DC jack and then power if from the expansion header with no issues. Or just don’t use the OTG port when powering from the expansion connector. On the -xM that signal to the switch does come out a connector so you can monitor it. This allows and external power to be used and if the main power is plugged in, it can shutoff the external power on the expansion header.
