Android FroYo or GingerBread wierdness on xM

I've had great luck running Android FroYo on my C4 board with the
Zippy2 expansion board. "Android works great!"

Tried running Android GingerBread pre-builts on my new xM board. The
Ethernet doesn't come up (although the kernel sees the SMSC95XX chip)
and the display appears to have a color issue. "Maybe the hardware has
an issue?"

So I went back to the Angstrom Linux-based card that came with the xM
and verified that the Ethernet and display are just fine. "Hm, the
hardware isn't an issue."

I tried Android FroYo pre-builts on the xM board and have exactly the
same issues with the Ethernet and display. "WTF?"

I suppose I'll build my own kernel (I did that with FroYo to support
the Zippy2) and see what's what. But I sorta expected the pre-builts
to work on the xM.

Some searching on this forum and elsewhere doesn't turn up any clues.
Anyone else seen this? (My xM has a "00" label on it so maybe it's an
early vintage.)

since you mention android "prebuilts", you might mention which
prebuilts these are and maybe ask the people that created them
for help too...
