Angstrom boot - ## Error: "mmcargs" not defined

I’ve been following the instructions on to get my first Angstrom sd card running.(console only)

However when I put the card into my Beagleboard Xm A2 (and I’ve also tried my Xm rev C too) and power up I get njothing on the HDMI, and on connecting to the console via serial port I get:

The activity light by the SD card is still flashing but with no change on the console an hour later.

I’ve re-follwoed the steps several times, but am drawing a blank on where to look to progress this other than that I guess the mccargs error is key, but not a problem i’ve been able to find a past example of.this. Any pointers much appreciated.

It seems that mmcargs i.e arguments that the kernel needs to be passed for booting from mmc is defined. Just type pri mmcargs and you may get the error - mmcargs not defined. Probably, mmcargs is not defined in u-boot/include/configs/omap3_beagle.h. So, the easiest way is get the latest omap3_beagle.h and replace the old one with this and recompile the u-boot.
