Angstrom gpe do not load correctly after login

Hi,

I am using the BeagleBoard C2. With Linux 2.6.28 and the Angstrom
2009.x-test-20090305.

Is have set the resolution to 800x600 using the command ling args
setenv bootargs console=ttyS2,115200n8 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rw
rootdelay=1 omapfb.video_mode=800x600MR-24@60 mmcinit;fatload mmc 0
80000000 uimage;bootm 80000000;

This loads okays and I get the command line. On my DVI monitor I get
the GPE login screen.

After login the screen goes blank and I get the X cursor for about
5seconds before the screen returns back to the GPE login.

I have tried different resolutions with no luck.

I have checked Xorg.0.log and there are some error lines but I cannot
find anything on the web about them.

Anybody any ideas?

I found that loading the latest Angstrom demo version worked. Its was
easier than it looked.

Hi Melvin,
  I am glad you got it working. The symptom you described first is
common
with late unstable Angstrom and sometimes those marked as stable. I
have seen it more than once on different releases.
BTW: after 2.6.28, omapfb.video_mode=800x600MR-24@60 is changed to
dvimode=800x600MR-24@60
    Not being a linux.embeded/beagleGuts guru I look for the simple
solution.

Playing with the resolution on the BeagleBoard Angstrom demo. Kernal
2.6.29.

Tried changing the bootargs by quitting autoboot and entering

setenv mmcargs setenv bootargs console=ttyS2,115200n8 vram=12M

Then typing #boot

It appears Angstrom still uses the low resolution 640 x 480. I can
confirm this using the linux command fbset shows

But I do not think this would affect the resolution.
