Angstrom on BB is too slow

Hello,

I installed Angstrom on my BB (rev. B6). After some troubling I managed it to work.
At boot, after the desktop is shown the GUI will hang for about 30-40 seconds (while the serial connection is reactive).
Apart from that, the board is quite unusable: it takes a couple of seconds to open a menu and load icons. Open an application is even worse: it takes several seconds.

I don’t think this is the common behavior of BB… does anyone have any idea what should I check in my installation?

Thanks!
Marco

Sorry for upping the post.

I read everywhere Angstrom is very fast on BB so I think there’s something wrong in my installation.
What do you recommend to check?

Dear Marco,

please read the netiquette and use interleaved quoting style [1].

Please contact the Ȧngström folks directly [2]. I am very skeptical
though, that you will receive an answer because your post is lacking a
lot of information.

You should include what image you used and how you received/created the
image. What software is included, are any devices attached. You could
also add the serial log.

Otherwise this is normal performance analysis which is not dependent on
the BeagleBoard. So you can use `htop`, `perf` and so on, to figure out
what is happening during that hangs.

Thanks and good luck,

Paul

you should use demo images from here:

they work fine.

What kind of microSD card are you using? The one that came with the
board?
