BBB (A6A) running Debian image (7.8-console-armhf-2015-07-06-2gb) not seen by Windows 7 via USB IP

Hello, I am new to the BBB, Linux and a lot of other stuff here. So thanks for bearing with me

I have successfully flashed the eMMC (2GB) on the board with the image (BBB-eMMC-flasher-debian-7.8-console-armhf-2015-07-06-2gb) found here: http://elinux.org/Beagleboard:BeagleBoneBlack_Debian#2015-07-06

It does boot as indicated by the LEDs’ heartbeat pattern and occasional CPU activity light. However, despite installing the Windows 64bit drivers from here: http://beagleboard.org/getting-started , I can’t see the storage volume nor get anything IP address related to show up or connect (no SSH, no web browser start page etc…). I did get something called Gadget Serial (COM3) in my device manager at least.

So I am stuck; I have no way to talk to the device to send commands or anything. No way to login. Did I do something wrong? Thanks for your help everyone

use the "lxde" image then, the console is for "you" to customize...

Regards,

Or use puTTY, serial connection, COM3.

Well, that explains a lot haha, thanks for the reply! I did manage to get the COM3 serial connection to work in any case.
