Beacon activation on BeagleBone Black issue

I have a BeagleBone Black Rev C.

I am installing the Bluetooth Low Energy software using the Kevin Townsend Tutorial. Everything seemed to be working OK until I got to the point of verifying the Beacon. I used the Beacon Tool I downloaded onto my iPhone 6 and it could not detect it. I also used an Android Sniffer app which found my Roku player but not my BeagleBone Black dongle. I tried the dongle on my computer and it works fine. I used another dongle and got the same result: no beacon.

So, I am wondering if there is a software switch that I need to activate to get the Beacon mode to become active?

Below is what I entered, the feedback as well as testing to make sure that the dongle was up and running.
