Beagle Board Ubuntu SGX raw demos are not working

HI,

I installed Ubuntu oneiric using latest netinstall script.
No additional packages selected. Console version.
After that followed instruction starting from here:
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#SDK_unPackage_Script
Used CommonRaw isntead CommonX11 demos.
Trying to run EvilSkull RAW demo returned these results:

No idea, probably missing something simple for the non-x11
environment, but the directions work as-is.

http://rcn-ee.net/bugs/ti_sgx/beaglexm_v3.1.4-x5.jpg

netinstall -> sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop gdm -> run sgx
unpacker -> run demo..

Regards,

I tried this. This doesn't work.
It simply doesn't work.
Can you be more specific in steps?

Also, if you have steps for RAW (no X11) mode please let me know.

Thank you in advance

Is this on your Beagle C4?

So, to fix:

> PVRShell: EGL 1.4 initialized
> Exit message has been set to: "PVRShell: Unable to create surface"
> InitAPI failed
> PVRShell: Unable to create surface

run:

echo "[default]" | sudo tee /etc/powervr.ini
echo "WindowSystem=libpvrPVR2D_FRONTWSEGL.so" | sudo tee -a /etc/powervr.ini

Or use the very latest verison of my "create_sgx_package.sh" script..
(version v2012.01-1)

and if it's a c4 board, it'll still crash ( see
https://github.com/RobertCNelson/stable-kernel/issues/8 and use the
workaround kernel v3.0.8)

Regards,

Thanks on fast response

How to specify/change kernel?

Regards,
Predrag

Also,
Sometimes BB won't boot. It is dumping garbage on the screen (before
it reaches kernel at all). Usually when working too long. Then it just
decide to boot. Is that static? Any experience with that?

are you still using that version of u-boot that mis-identifies the ram
as 1GB on the 256MB c4?

to change to a specific kernel,

goto: http://rcn-ee.net/deb/
pick dist, find kernel version, download install-me.sh then run on beagle..

for the c4, the last good kernel for sgx was :

wget http://rcn-ee.net/deb/oneiric/v3.0.8-x3/install-me.sh
/bin/bash install-me.sh

Regards,

Hi,

Following these instructions helped. Both, RAW and X11 demos are
working. Thank you.

Another problem i have now:
I cross-compiled qt 4.6.
All demos are working except:
./hellogl_es2 -qws -display powervr
It crashes display driver and this is output:

Additional information. I built Qt against libraries which are not
created with "create_sgx_package.sh".
Does "create_sgx_package.sh" creates all includes and libraries we
need to crosscompile applications (like crosscompiling Qt framework
with GLES)?

Thanks again
