[beagleboard] Beagleboard with Angstrom cross compile

Hello Nelson,

I believe that the easiest way to start cross-development for the BB xM is to pick up a customized IDE for the AM3517/DM3730 processors. I know the existence of at least three of them:

  • TI Code Composer - there is a free edition,
  • TimeSys Timestorm (I’m using this one at work)
  • CodeSourcery Lite from Mentor Graphics.

I don’t know much about the last one, but the first two are based on the Eclipse CDT IDE ( that’s Eclipse for C/C++ development). So, you will have a head start if you’re already familiar with Eclipse.

Good luck and happy coding,

Yves

The free Sourcery CodeBench Lite Edition from Mentor Graphics is command
line only. The full commercial versions of Sourcery CodeBench include
Eclipse integration, support and more:

Thanks,
