Thanks for getting back to me. I have done quite abit of research and I have seen successful installations of ubuntu but I have not seen much in the way of using ubuntu w/ a desktop as a traditional desktop pc. However it seems more than capable! Was hoping someone had an experience to share.

It is done all the time. In fact, the board ships with Angstrom which boots to a desktop, assuming you have a display plugged in. .
