I have the same problem with the BB classic. I got slightly further by
disabling a certain USB-dma option in the kernel and recompile. I came far
enough to get to pairing, but then suddenly the connection broke down and
since then the dongle does not even show up in lsusb (it does on my
desktop pc though).
