[beagleboard] Cases

Paul,

http://elinux.org/BeagleBoard#Beagle_cases

I’ve posted my Google SketchUp 3D model of the Beagleboard that you can export to other formats (using their Pro version with free 8 hours eval). The Google SketchUp viewer and editor tool is free if you don’t need export filters.

I’ve also been offering low-cost laser-cut acrylic cases for the Beagleboard since August. My acrylic cases are very quickly modeled and accurately laser cut for shipment very cheaply world-wide in a USPS Priority Mail envelope.

It would be wonderful for you to offer metal cases as well. I’ll be happy to help with order fulfillment for you also.

Speaking of which, some of us have noted that your cases lack a cut-out
for the USB host port (not mounted on the currently shipped boards).
Can we assume this will be added (or is that removed?) when the rev C
boards start shipping?

Otherwise, very nice case. Thanks for making this.

Each acrylic case panel is individually laser cut, so each can be replaced individually as the design changes. We can custom cut additional holes and surface effects as needed with our fancy laser.

We hope to offer a replacement panels for customers that have already bought a Beagleboard Rev B case.

I'm not planning on offering anything for sale, I'll just post the
mechanical drawings for other people to use is they want. I thought
Sketchup didn't have a measuring tool, I'll take a look at your model
though and check if it will work. Thanks,

-Paul

Will rev c have the same connectors?
