[beagleboard] HDMI sound was work but now isn't

Check your resolution. If for whatever reason the resolution is not a CEA resolution, you get no audio as defined by the specification. Make sure everything is correct or the board may not be getting the EDID information such as if the display has gone into the sleep mode.

These are the issue they are working on at the moment. The way it works now is to default to the highest resolution that supports audio, one of the CEA resolution. An earlier image did 1920x1080. The newer one does 720. Not sure why, but it does.

We are working on a way to allow the selection of the resolution. Everyone is trying to get familiar with this new and improved DRM driver. We have the new part down. Still looking for the improved part.

Glad you like the sound! I have a Dell laptop that won’t work at 1920x1080 on my Samsung display without chopping off the left and right sides. 1600x900 works fine. My other PC, works fine oat 1920x1080. Oh, and the BeagleBone Black? Works great!! Go figure!
