I was going to point you to Sakoman's flash procedure, but it seems to have gone missing. I put our process into a TeraTerm (4.58) script; it's only directly useable on windows, but you could convert it, or follow the directions easily enough. (sendln is what you type, kmtsend is kermit transfer)

nand.ttl (1.17 KB)

Why so complicated?
I don't know the proper incantations but I am pretty sure you can boot
u-boot from mmc then (in that u-boot) write an image to flash).

The script assumes a working u-boot. For first time bring up, you'd have to use the recovery procedures to get something running.

Hm. I have not too much experience in this area, but
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardRecovery#MMC_recovery to me seems pretty
clear that you can get things running directly from mmc, bypassing the
nand.
make sure you start with an empty sd card, put a fat partition in it,
then copy mlo, uboot and uimage (in that order and with 3 different
copy commands).

Good luck! FM
