[beagleboard] PIN19/PIN20 on P9 for custom cape, kernel (device-tree) modification needed?

If you don't mind working with some kernel code you can do what ever
you want.

Are the devices you want to put on these pins not I2C?

Modify the pinmux to do whatever you want with those pins… as long as you have no other capes that depend upon this convention for setup or communication. Really, it sounds like you are designing a cape without regard for established convention. Why? The functions otherwise available on those pins are all available elsewhere via pinmux.
