[BeagleBoard-Xm interfacing with leopard imaging LI-5M03 camera module]

I have purchased the camera module LI-5M03. I got it without any
technical details .Could i get help to write a driver for it so that
interfacing could be done.

--Thanks

Are you able to see the camera module in your /dev folder as /dev/
video* or atleast during the boot as a registered li5m03 device ?
Before writing the driver, I guess we need to configure it with the
boot.scr file, see the discussion archive you might find a solution to
it. I am still struck to get the camera working with my BBxM.

Presently i am not having BeagleBoard-Xm with me.It is expected to be
in my portfolio within a week.
So by the time i like to have plan clear to proceed for device
drivers.Could you please share ideas regarding it?

I contacted Leopard Imaging for the interfacing issues that I am
having with the camera module, they replied and it seems only drivers
for VGA and 3M camera modules are available as of now.
To develop drivers for other models we need to contact APTINA Imaging
(http://www.aptina.com/) to get the datasheet and change the code of
existing drivers to suit our specific module.

Too bad none of this was mentioned on Beagle Board or Leopard Imaging
page :frowning:

Thanks Jay,
I too tried to contact, dint got any response from them. Do you have
existing device drivers for 3M camera?

Jay,

I think the datasheet mentioned in the link would help to some
conclusion.

Hi Jay,

Do you have any links to the VGA and 3M drivers? I have a VGA camera module from Leopard, but was not successful in making it work

Thanks Rahul for the link, I guess that's the link whose reference I
got from Leopard Imaging people. But for the 2M sensor I have to sign
a NDA to get the Datasheet (or maybe not, have to search for the
correct sensor).

I have sent another mail to the reference in Leopard Imaging to
inquire about existing drivers, will post the links to group if I get
any reply.

Cheers,
Jay
