Hi All,
I have two new beagleboards xM rev C which arrived from DigiKey last
Friday (5/6); these are replacing rev B board which no longer exists.
I am having issues with the USB under heavy data transfer. This issue
occurs under the latest posted Ubuntu 10.10 compilation (4/28; kernel
2.6.38.4-x3) and also with Angstrom which came with the board. I
didn't see these issues with my rev B board.
Under Ubuntu, in the worst case, I have been able to have the onboard
USB hub fail and disconnect in software.
hub 1-0:1.0: port 2 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling...
ehci-omap ehci-omap.0: force halt: handshake fa064814 0000c000 00000000 -> -110
Only a keyboard and my Linksys WUSB54G(v4) was plugged in and I was
wget'ing a file.
I have tried to use an externally power USB hub as well. Under
Angstrom, I have seen both the onboard USB hub and externally powered
USB hub disconnect. In one case, the recovery was graceful and both
hubs came back online (although the file transfer was interrupted).
See [1] below.
In another case, the external hub would not reset even after
unplugging and replugging. See [2] below.
I have tried 3 different USB wifi devices and 1 wifi/cat 5 adapter.
Looking through the forums, there were 2 instances in which other
people noticed issues with heavy data transfer over USB. One suggest
for the beagleboard C3, capacitance should be added (http://

Is anyone else seeing this problem?
