Beagleboards have long lead time

Hi Gerald,

Why the Beagleboards have such a long lead time? Would you please explain?

We have to get parts to put on the boards. Until those parts come in, we can’t build the boards. Some parts have a 52 week leadtime. We just received our procesors on November1, 2010. We are now shipping 500 boards a week at the moment. We have shipped 3200 boards to date.

Hi Gerald,

Regarding the 3200 boards shipped, do you mean it is the combined total of Beagleboard and Beagleboard -xm since the first Beagleboard was shipped?

Oh, no. We have shipped 21,000 of the original BeagleBoard and 3,200 of the BeagleBoard-xM. We are still shipping both versions.

If you're looking to get one now (like we were) check out the xM, digi-key has them is stock

All distributors should have them in stock unless they have sold out over the last couple of weeks.

I placed my orders to buy the Rev C4 boards on 10/21. I have not received any as of today. So, I placed a new order to buy the -xm boards in Sparkfun a couple hours ago and expect it to arrive tomorrow. I’ve just checked Digikey, no stock there.

Oh, Rev C4. We are just now ramping up the new prodcution on that one. We are shipping around 100-150 per week of the C4. The -xM is the one with inventory at DigiKey.
