BeagleBone AI-64 Serial Port Settings

What settings should I use for the main domain serial port (UART0)? In particular:

  • What is the signaling voltage?
  • What is the baud rate?
  • How many data bits does a single frame have?
  • Do frames have a parity bit?
  • How many stop bits are there?

For reference, according to Beagleboard:BeagleBone Black Serial - eLinux.org, the BeagleBone Black uses the following settings:

  • 3.3V signaling
  • Baud rate: 115,200
  • 8 data bits per frame
  • No parity bit
  • 1 stop bit

As such, I believe that if the same adapters work on both the BeagleBone AI-64 and the BeagleBone Black, we can safely assume that they use the same settings.

Same 3.3v FTDI adapter you used on the BBB, for a cable to header adapter, look at:

(datasheet has the parts if you’d like to build it yourself…)
