Beaglebone Black: No HDMI output with latest Angstrom Master

Hi.
I have a Beaglebone Black rev A5C.
I get a proper desktop on my HDMI screen, when I boot the original flashed demo.
If I boot from a cloud9-gnome-image on a microSD card
built from the Angstrom distribution master the screen is not detected by the driver.

The Build machine is running Ubuntu-12.10 x86.

The Beaglebone is connected to

  • HDMI monitor
  • USB hub with keyboard and mouse
  • Ethernet (but have tried without)
  • FTDI cable for console port connected to a laptop.

The Beaglebone, HDMI monitor and laptop are all connected to the same power splitter.

Get the following error in the bootlog

Have looked through the kernel configuration, and tried adding the omap_drm from staging to no effect.
The boot above is with the CONFIG enabled.
I don’t think it is loaded anyway because lsmod gives:

modprobe omapfb
does not work so I go to:
cd /lib/modules/3.8.13/kernel/drivers/video/omap2/omapfb ; insmod omapfb.ko
I get

depmod -a
does not work, since the image does not have modules.order or modules.builtin.

Tried adding
capemgr.disable_partno=BB-BONELT-HDMI
to uEnv.txt

The boot says:

uEnv.txt (1.08 KB)

Xorg.0.log (59.1 KB)

boot.log (51.7 KB)

If I add the following to “uEnv.txt” I do get a screen, but the upper and lower menus are not in
the visible part of the screen.

optargs=quiet

It sounds like the over scan feature of your display is getting in the way.
