BeagleBone hung tasks during boot **LONG**

I did the periodic upgrade of 12.04 and the next reboot I got hung tasks messages.

I installed a fresh ubuntu-12.04-r1-minimal-armhf.tar.xz with the same result, same on another install.
Perhaps someone can spot something that's not quite right.

Hi Sid, this is one of the deficiencies i was seeing with this image
too.. Planing a refresh later this week.. can you please test psp10?

wget http://rcn-ee.net/deb/precise-armhf/v3.2.17-psp10/install-me.sh
/bin/bash install-me.sh

Regards,

Hi Robert can you make the kernel images default with usb dma disabled. I have difficulties with my usb devices with your kernels, I always have to recompile them with it disabled >.<

I cooked this up with the script as described ending in a cooked kernel and installed it:

Installing 3.2.17-psp10-modules.tar.gz to rootfs partition

Hi Robert,
One obvious problem, no prompt, so no way to run install-me.sh.
I’ve downloaded the files and will check to see if there is after extracting the deb, copying it to the SD card would work.
Regards
Sid.

Hi Rob,
I don’t see the script.
I have been looking at install-me.sh to see if there is a way of installing it to the mmc using a x86_64 system.

I have extracted the deb on the x86_64 Kubuntu box. Looks like the directory contents can be copied across, looking at creating uInitrd and giving it a try.
Regards
Sid.

Yeah, that's not implemented in the script yet..

But, i haven't completed my smoke test, but give this a try, as it
just finished uploading from the build machine: (it has that kernel
image)

No difference. BTW BeagleBone A4.
Halts here for some minutes then periodically spits out the backtraces.
I shall rename plymouthd and see if that makes a difference.

Over lunch, i got my A3 to finally do that.. However with
3.2.17-psp10, it's not doing it at the moment.. need to figure out
what's triggering it..

Any chance, does this make a difference for you?

Regards,

Hi, Did you ever get a resolution to this problem? I’m seeing a very similar behavior using

I have two A5 Beagles and they are doing the same thing.
