I decided it was cheaper than using a cape and another larger screen.
I had already installed xserver-xorg-video-displaylink driver on Ubuntu 12.04.
The screen arrived today and I connected it up to a USB powered hub, rebooted and fired up starx.
I'm just installing xfce4.
Quite a neat solution.
Oh, LCD can get connected by USB? cool, I just heard of that. I check the price of this kind of adapter, oh, it is not cheap…
If I had a spare 7" LCD on hand I would have gone for a cape.
This way I only needed the 7" LCD.
What I am putting together calls for a small screen and an embedded PC as part of a portable Software Defined Radio (SDR) unit.
