BeagleBone Query - Interfacing touchscreen using Arduino

Hi,

I'm new to beaglebone. I want to interface a touchscreen with my
beaglebone. I don't want to use Beagle touch cape as its too costly.

Is this way possible ->

touchscreen <------->Arduino<---------serial/usb......>Beagle
or are there touchscreens which can be directly used with beagle
without cape (using serial)

1) Is this possible ?
2) How do i make connections arduino-beagle ?
3) How to communicate between the two boards

Plz a detailed repy is required as i'm just a beginner

Thanking You

What is your specific requirement for your LCD? What is the size? What is the resolution?

7 INCH tft lcd TOUCHSCREEN ..
640*480

Why not just use the pins on the Beaglebone as if it were a cape.. just mock it up on the breadboard.... it's not as permanent but it's a solution.. Remember... keep it simple..

will that work..
then why do people go for capes.
