Maybe we can take note from the person who broke his bbb into 20 pieces ? But perhaps just break the LEDs off?

GUYS!!! take the box that came with your bbb, and place it over the board, geez. Seriously bright lights bother me too, but who says you have to stare at it all day. Build a lego wall around it or SOMETHING!!!
On the next revision of the board, they will be less bright. I will talk to Circuitco about offering a service that for $45 they will make them dimmer for anyone that needs it.

i was snickering at the complaints about the LEDs, too ... until
last night. woke up middle of the night, pitch black in condo, saw
intensely blue blinking light from other end of condo that looks out
onto the street, thought it was police or something out in the street
... walked into office overlooking street to see my BBB happily
blinking away.
yeah, you can crank down the intensity just a bit.

Concerning LEDs I do not have anything against both ( dim or not, people where are you doing your projects ? )
FYI
HDMI works fine for me on 2 TVs and 2 monitors.
I have got bbb few days ago, and since then I did all kinds of flashing and reflashing, with Ubuntu and Angstrom. So far so good.
