Bone usb to serial

Using bone A3 board....

Installed the Beaglebone FTDI RS232 drivers in 64 bit Win7 and there
are two unknown devices named "Beaglebone" in my device manager. I
have no USB serial port, or storage device. Used BONE_D64.exe, but
drivers are not installing. The setup says they were installed, but
when plugging in the USB cable it says "no drivers found". Tried
uninstalling these devices and rescanning...but the BeagleBone devices
say they can't find any drivers.

I'd like to connect to the bone using RS232. Is there something else
required other than installing the drivers and plugging in the usb
cable?? Was there a file other than BONE_D64.exe that is required??

Thanks!

From what I understand those drivers were for Ethernet to USB.. But I may be wrong.

There are 2 sets of drivers in each of BONE_DRV.exe and BONE_D64.exe,
one set for the FTDI USB-to-serial adapter and one for the
USB-to-Ethernet Linux gadget.

In an earlier thread, there was a report by someone associated with
FTDI that found issues with my .inf files. I've fixed them and he
checked them out on 64-bit Windows. You can grab them here:

I'm working on replacing them on the updated README.htm.

I've been having the same problems as the OP, and downloaded your new
BONE_D64.exe. However, it won't run under my Win7 x64.

BONE_D64.exe on beagleboard.org works!

http://beagleboard.org/static/beaglebone/a3/Drivers/Windows/BONE_D64.exe

does not work for me.
Of course if I start Windows 7 64bit with F8 it does, but that is
unacceptable.

Could you please explain what you did?
