Booting BBB from SD Card Error

Hello,

i am trying to boot Beaglebone balck from uSD (8gb) card
i am getting this error

U-Boot SPL 2013.10 (Dec 03 2013 - 01:40:45)

** Partition 1 not valid on device 0 **

spl: fat register err - -1

it hangs after that

Partition 1 isn't valid... So MLO couldn't load u-boot.img from it and
continue the boot process
