Booting problems | BeagleBoard | Angstrom

Hi all !

I'm recently acquired the BeagleBoard xM Rev B, the one which has
a MicroSD card slot. I tried to boot it up by performing the following
steps :

1. After inserting the MicroSD Card on the Linux Development Host, I
unmounted the volume and configured the microSD Card i.e. deleted all
existing partitions, set the number of heads, sectors, cylinders,
created 2 new partitions - boot and filesystem, set the filesystem for
boot partition to FAT32, formatted both the partitions in the specfied
formats vfat(boot) and ext3(filesystem).

2. After configuring the microSD Card, I downloaded the binaries from
the link : http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/demo/beagleboard/ .
The files which I downloaded from this link were :
    - MLO
    - u-boot.bin
    - uImage
    - Angstrom-Beagleboard-demo-image-glibc-ipl-2011.1-
beagleboard.rootfs.tar.bz2

3. I copied the first 3 files (strictly in order) into the boot
partition and then untarred the rootfs file directly onto the 2nd
partition of the microSD Card.

After doing all this, I unmounted both the partitions of the card
and inserted the microSD card into the BeagleBoard, setup the serial
terminal and finally powered on the board. But nothing appeared on the
serial terminal. Please confirm whether I performed the steps
correctly or not. If there is some other way of booting the board with
Angstrom, then please let me know.

Thanks in advance
Harsh
