Booting x-loader from MMC with a 2GB SD card?

Hi, guys,

My beagle is dead! I messed up with nand's x-loader section so I tried
to boot x-loader from MMC. Here's how I did it:

1) format the 2GB SD card (patriot) with
mkfs.vfat /dev/sdc1
there's only on partition in the card

2) copy all 8 files in the exact order as told in
http://code.google.com/p/beagleboard/wiki/BeagleboardRevCValidation

Booting with user button pressed down gave "40V" then hung. The 'pwr'
LED was on and other LEDs off in the whole process.

Is my SD card too large (I heard beagle can only take MLO on a SD less
than 2GB)? or maybe I didn't format it correctly? However I had no
problem with the same card before with only loading u-boot.bin from
it.

Update: I just find a 32MB SD from my almost discarded Canon camera
and repeated the process. It worked and the beagle is alive! So I
guess the volume matters.
