Can the Beagleboard-xM play 1080p smoothly? If so, is this only for certain codecs?

Anything based on a modern SoC such as OMAP4, Exynos4/5, etc.

I’ve read that the Raspberry Pi cannot play 720p or 1080p video smoothly.
