Cannot ping from Beagleboard C5

Hello!

I am running the latest Angstrom demo distribution in a Beagleboard C5. I have a Trendnet USB to Ethernet adapter connected to the same hub which has the keyboard and the mouse.

The Ethernet connection is eth0 and it gets its information from DHCP.

All of that works fine, and Midori has no problem connecting to the Web.

However, the ping command does not work when I try ‘ping www.google.com’ and it tells me that it is a bad address.

Looking at the connection properties in the Network Manager shows that I have a DNS server address which corresponds to the one in my router.

As a result, the opkg update command does not work and I am pretty much dead in the water.

How do I get this resolved?

Thanks,

José (Jsac)
