Chipsee 7" LCD and latest Angstrom linux

Hi,

that sounds like great news. If you could upload to a dropbox or similar location I’ll download it and give it a try.

thanks

Tony

Hi,
You can download it here from my dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6sfyz9p34jf6kzq/chipsee.beaglebone.tar.gz
There is prebuild image and two shell scripts that will make your SD card. For me LCD works with this image. If you found out how to get touch working please let me know!

I’v found a linux kernel source on DVD that come with expansion, so you could even try to build it on your own:

I got the 7" from chipsee working on Ubuntu with touch. I could not get sound working and I could not get the LCD to turn off properly (using xset, the display would just turn white and the backlight wouldn’t ever go off).

I bugged the chipsee folks to start working with the official beaglebone kernel. Apparently nothing has changed with them in the last few months. Maybe they will be more likely to fix their ways if more people bug them as Keon recommended. Also, assuming you purchased through Tigal, maybe it’d be worth complaining to them and trying to get them to apply pressure to their supplier.

I gave up on chipsee and I’m using the circuitco 7" which works much better.

Would you share with us how did you manage to get it working with Ubuntu please? Thanks in advance!

What did you have to do to get the touch to work on the Chipsee 7" LCD? I have the LCD working with Angstrom, but no touch yet… Thanks!
