Composite video output instead of S-Video

Hello everybody

Is there any easy way to set the Omap in order to have a composite
video instead of a s-video output on the s-video connector (hopefully
without recompiling a new kernel)?
We found in http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/litabsmultiplefilelist.tsp?literatureNumber=spruf98c
that it can be done by setting a bit in register DSS.DSS_CONTROL[6]
VENC_OUT_SEL.

Why do I ask for it? We need to connect the BB to a BNC input and the
S-Video to composite adapters do not work with BB!

Thanks in advance for any help

Ska

Could you describe a bit more in detail how to fix this? What does 'setting the Omap output to composite video' mean? Is it a kernel option or something like that, or did you have to dig into the kernel source?

I'm also trying to use S-VIDEO on my beagle board (B6), and I'm also using an S-VIDEO to composite adapter, which kinda works, but the result is very poor. Colors are sometimes strange (white turning into flicker) and the overall screen flicker is awful. Playing around with dss2 options did not help much and documentation for it is hard to find. E.g. overscanning is a problem, too, for which I did not find any hints yet. So, did you have more success in getting a decent quality S-VIDEO output yet and if so, how?
