Connect beaglebone black to mac

I’ve tried several ways to connect my BBB to mac (el capitan) through SSH (https://learn.adafruit.com/ssh-to-beaglebone-black-over-usb/installing-drivers-mac) e i’ve failed.

I have read that horndis doesn’t work with this OS.

Is it possible to establish a connection using an ethernet cable or anything else?

Thanks

Open terminal, type:

ssh debian@192.16.1.105
enter password

This works just fine for me.

John

Open terminal, type:
ssh debian@192.16.1.105

How did you find this ip?
If you connect your BBB to your router with DHCP server, then BBB will
ask for an IP and most probably get one. But which one???

- If a screen and keyboard is connected to a keyboard and screen then
tipe into the terminal
ifconfig

- If no screen is available, you can do a portscan e.g. with nmap and
search for ssh, http ... and maybe this is your BBB

- On some routers see all devices connected if you log in eg with your browser.

it'll also broadcast a name of "beaglebone.local" so try:

ssh debian@beaglebone.local

tipe into the terminal
ifconfig
