Console Frozen when trying to boot from SD card.

Hello,
        I am following instructions of this link. I have my uboot.bin
and kernel image on the SD card.

all I see on the the console on boot, is the following message and
nothing beyond that:

Readi~o boo�
sec
Loading �-boo�.bin from mmc

Any hints or pointers would be appreciated.
