cost for beagleboard

Hello,

Iam from Bangalore, I want to purchase the beagleboard-xm, from where
i can purchase. Any one has purchased the board from digikey? Whether
i need to pay any custom duty if purchase it from digikey. If so how
much i need to pay. Anybody having information regarding this?

Please help me out.

Iam Vijayanand from Chennai, India. I buyed the BeagleBoard-xM from IDA systems which is the direct reseller for the Board in India. Here the link for them. There is no need to pay Customs Duty.

In India the best way to buy BB xM is through Jaipur based IDA
Systems, it will save you the customs (yes you will have to pay 30% on
the cost of BBxM + shipping).
IDA systems sells BBxM + 4GB microSD angstrom test image loaded @ Rs,
12,500/- and related accessories (HDMI cable, adapter, blank 4GB
microSD) @ Rs.2,500/-, shipping is free and quite fast.

IDA systems is official dealer to BB, so its best to stick with them.

i bought beagleboard from digikey a month ago and i got it for 149+40
$ and custom duty of around 1600 so it was under Rs .10000which is
2500 less than IDA .
so think about that too and btw digikey is the official distributor
too.

Hi Abhi,

I have ordered it from DigiKey. Currently their system says shipping
date is 23 Jan, which is 2 days from now. Board cost is $149 and the
Shipping cost is $40. I need to see how much would be the customs
duty. (Karan mentioned it as Rs1600).

Will update this thread once i receive the board.

i am sudeep,i think you purchased BBxM from digikey.

my questions are

  1. can i get the accessories such as
    (HDMI cable, adapter, blank 4GB microSD) in the market outside.

  2. as beagle is arm Uc powered can i get jtag debuggger or emulator to test peripheral
    programs on it.if so at cheepest cost where its available in bangalore or in india .

please suggest if u kno about these…

Hi Abhi,

I have received my BeagleBoard-xM today. Total cost is $149+
$40+Rs1654.
Rs 1654 is the total of customs clearance, additional tax and the home
delivery charges from FedEx.
I believe this worked out much better than, if I had ordered from IDA
systems.

Is there any one who ordered from mouser electronics..? i need to know
the details...which is best? digikey or mouser?

I have one Xm rev.B bought from Mouser and shipped to Italy, good service as usual.
IMHO Digikey is good as Mouser and in this case there is no price difference.

DigiKey placed a board order so they are getting boards. Mouser did not so they are getting fewer boards.

And my to cost for the board will come around $149+$40+ 1600Rs
(approx).

Yes for the one board that I received on 24th Jan, the total customs
duty+additional tax+handling charges added up to Rs1654. This is
through FedEx.

I think there's an indian dealer for Beagleboards (the only one) at Jaipur.

IDA Systems is the only official beagleboard dealer located in India. There are also a few that are sub dealers of Spark Fun, which is an officiall Beagle dealer as well.
