Date update not sticking on BeagleBone Black Wireless

I am running a BeagleBone Black Wireless. the output of version.sh is below.

I can normally execute sudo date -s “03 Sep 2021 09:00:00” to update the system to the current date and it sticks but it is not sticking currently. I may be forgetting something simple but would appreciate any help to get this sticking again as our output data files record the actual datestamp and having it accurate is important.

debian@beaglebone:/var/lib/cloud9$ sudo /opt/scripts/tools/version.sh

Never mind. Feeling stupid here. But for anyone else who makes this mistake. When I rebuilt this BBBw, I forgot to set my timezone.

sudo timedatectl set-timezone America/New_York

fixed me. I’m in EDT currently.

Hello,

I know I may sound like my mother here but please do not call yourself names.

Seth

P.S. I was not familiar w/ timedatectl. Thank you!
