ETA on BeagleBone cape with audio output

I see there's an HDMI cape for the BeagleBone, but only the 000
version is available. But according to the schematics, the 001 version
will have audio input/output jacks. Does anyone know when it will be
for sale?

I'm not sure who makes that board. If there's someone more relevant to
ask, please tell me.

We haave no ETA at all untill we get somone to get the audio SW working.

Gerald

Thanks for your authoritative answer. Is it the kernel component
that's incomplete? If that's the case, then that would be a show
stopper.

I just have not found anyone to work on it. The CODEC has a driver out there, it just needs to be ported to the AM335x processor.

Gerald

I made a top quality 24-bit 192 kHz DAC “cape” for BeagleBoard.
To maintain the 24-bit analog audio quality (actually 23+ bits) the
output level is 30 Vp-p. So a special audio amplifier is needed if
you want to work on this quality level. But it pays off…

If somebody is interested in redesigning it for BeagleBone, please
contact me directly. As the PCM1792A interface is rather special
and the driver will therefore probably need to be heavily
modified (clock generation and signaling). So be warned…

Best regards,

Hello Gerald,

If let me borrow the hardware I can port the driver. I just bought a
beaglebone and that would be a great way for me to get familiar with
it. What do you think?

Let me see if I can set this up. It will be next week before I know something.

Gerald

Sounds good, let me know when you find out. I also need time to get my
system ready for development.

I am having two built up next week. One for you and one for us in case we need to make any changes on the board and swap it out.

Gerald

Sounds like a plan

Hello Gerald,

If you have the schematics then I would like to have it so I can start
researching the CODEC. Also if you know where the original driver that
I am going to port is then let me know too. That way when I receive
the hardware I would be ready. Thanks

Contact me direct.
