Failed to load capes during boot

Seems I'm unable to load established capes (this is after running make all_arm, make install_arm from bb.org-overlays):

Is this still the issue where custom capes can't load at boot, and one must use /etc/default/capemgr (on a 4.1.6-ti kernel)? TIA...

^these are not setup as overlays in v4.1.x...

From /boot/uEnv.txt enable:

dtb=am335x-boneblack-overlay.dtb

If you want the eMMC:

dtb=am335x-boneblack-emmc-overlay.dtb

Regards,

Ah yeah, I noticed there was no dtb= set by default in uEnv.txt. I meant to ask about that. What does it default to if nothing is uncommented in the default uEnv.txt?

It'll default to whatever u-boot detected.. for the black..
am335x-boneblack.dtb gets loaded by default..

Regards,
