Gentoo + BeagleBone: latest info, image?

I just received my BeagleBone (rev. A5A) and I've been playing around
with Angstrom but I'd like to give Gentoo a try because I'm familiar
with it. I've read through this and it doesn't seem too bad:

http://dev.gentoo.org/~armin76/arm/beaglebone/install.xml

I've read that some of the info is outdated though. Can anyone who
has done this tell me where their procedure varied from the
instructions?

Is there any chance someone has an already-built Gentoo image
available for the BeagleBone?

I only have the one SD card. Can I pack up my current Angstrom
install and expect it to work later if I wipe out the Gentoo install
and unpack Angstrom?

Use dd to make an image of the card. just re-image the card to go back to
the original setup.
The first thing I did was to make an image before using my bb. If I mess up
Angstrom I can
re-image the card with dd and be back to a like new setup within minutes.

If you will be doing any dev work on the bb itself get the largest card you
can afford.
I've had good with sandisk so far.

Thank you. If I use softfp instead of hardfp, I'm not using the full
capabilities of the hardware? I tried the current-stage3-armv7a_hardf
Gentoo stage but portage wouldn't work at all so I rebuilt with
current-stage3-armv7a and all is working great.

You are, there is no real world difference between the 2, just a lot of misinformation on the internet.

Alright, if there is no performance difference then I won't worry about it.

I noticed a lot of flashing LEDs right above the mini-USB port with
Angstrom but those LEDs don't illuminate at all under Gentoo. Does
anyone know why?

It is a simple configuration. See gpio-leds.

Can the other LEDs (power and ethernet) also be controlled with
gpio-leds? If not, is there a way (preferably in software) to turn
them off completely?
