I would like to buy a GPS and GPRS device for my beagleboard. Any
suggestion?

I use Linux on my xM boards: I went for cheap USB stuff.

On my xM I have a NL301U USB GPS and an Huawei UMTS USB stick (way faster than GSM, yet "GSM-compatible"). No soldering required. No serial ports required. No case required. No cables/power/level adapters required. Work with stock gpsd/pppd packages. Testable on a common Linux PC (if they work on your Linux PC probably you don't have any "drivers" headaches).

Drawbacks:

- they may require a bit more power than a GPS+GSM gadget (no more than some 100mA for GPS and no more than 500mA for UMTS)

- their weight (including casing) may be a few grams more than a GPS+GSM gadget.

That is, if you are not planning a Beagleboard-based UAV, chances are you may save some bucks using second hand USB sticks...
