GSoC '15

Hi,

So I was goiing through the ideas page for 2014, and I came across the node-webkit project (http://elinux.org/BeagleBoard/GSoC/Ideas-2014#node-webkit_based_cross-platform_getting-started_app). I was wondering if it was still up for consideration in '15.

Also, is the requirement strictly node-webkit, or are relatively new frameworks like deskshell, atom-shell or brackets-shell also being considered.

The idea is that you start from http://beagleboard.github.io/bone101 and you make it a stand-alone application. There is also desire to integrate the USB bootloader. Otherwise, there isn’t a particular reason for node-webkit. Being able to run Cloud9 IDE is a plus, but that might be OK to be run off the board only. Doing some multicast DNS discovery of boards on the network would be a bonus.
