HDMI and 1080p monitors

Hi,

I read on another thread that the HDMI output won’t work with 1080p monitors. I am about to order a BBB, and I have a 1080p monitor. (They are almost all 1080p these days). It a Samsung model, marketed as a computer monitor as opposed to a TV.

Does this mean that the monitor is likely to work, but just not at maximum resolution, or is it likely that it will not work at all? And does the BeagleBone White have the same limitation?

Beaglebone white has no HDMI.

Samsung monitors generally work well. I have two of them and they work fine.
