help needed in Embedded Linux.. please please please

Hi guys,

I ve been asking questions in the last 2 months about beagleboard.
But, i need a real clarification now.

I am very new to linux, and Booting the TI omap3530 Board with linux..

I bought some ema OMAP3530 board. I have linux source. i have u-boot
source. i have x-loader source.
I booted the Board with linux, but the lcd doesn't show display..
I tried to run a .c file but there is no gcc in it.

How do i write a code to toggle an LED ? Do i need to learn about
embedded linux or OMap35x or what??

Just tell me what are the pre requisite knowledge i must have to work
comfortably on the omap3530 Board?

Hello Yaswanth,

I tried to run a .c file but there is no gcc in it.

It is easy to check if you have GCC. Just type "gcc -v" in the
command
line and you will see the version which you have.
If you don't have you can download and install it very easy, just use
the code "sudo apt-get install gcc".

Well, if you don't know Linux, neither the processor which you want to
work with, it is going to be hard for you. I would suggest learning
both...

Please be a little more specifc on the exact board you are referring to and what SW you are running.

i tried gcc -v . the output is sh- gcc - comand not found… which means that there is no gcc in my Board’s angstrom.

i tried to get the gcc on the board… i connected a ethernet cable and tried this " opkg install gcc " it tells that its installed in the root… i looked for it in /usr/bin & in /home/root… i found it no where,

Thank you…
