Help setting high speed graphic driver on ubuntu for beagle board

Hi,

I have followed the following wiki to install ubuntu on beagle board

http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu

However, when I get to SGX Video Acceleration, things start not to
work properly

I'm using kernel 2.6.28-omap1 and the modules are in the right place
( /lib/modules/2.6.28-omap1/kernel/drivers/char )

Then i make

sudo depmod -a omaplfb

Ok

Then I make

sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/libXdmcp.so.6.0.0 /usr/lib/libXdmcp.so.0
sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/libXau.so.6.0.0 /usr/lib/libXau.so.0

Which goes allright as well.

But I cant start X

If fails saying that no screens are found

Any tips?

Thanks,

Nuno

Hi Nuno,

Couple things to check:

Did you rebuild the modules for 2.6.28? (the modules listed on the
wiki are only built against 2.6.29 oer34+)

What's in your pvr init script?
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#Startup_Script

What's in your xorg.conf? (
http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#xorg.conf ) 16 bit mode is the
most important. The "Driver "omapfb"" using the omap3 neon optimized
driver or "Driver "fbdev""
