Help with driver compillation

Hello,

Sorry for the newbie question...

I am trying to compile the Hauppauge PVR USB2 driver for kernel
2.6.29:
http://www.isely.net/pvrusb2/setup.html

However I get the following error after a "make install":

  ERROR: Kernel configuration is invalid.
         include/linux/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are
missing.

I obtained the kernel source using:
git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap-2.6.git
linux-omap-2.6

Then moved it to /lib/modules/2.6.29-omap1/source/

I then set KDIR according to the drivers setup instuctions and ran
make install. Now I am stuck. Could someone help?

Thanks

hi...it's lacking the configuration file: type: make ARCH=arm
CROSS_COMPILE=path/to/your/arm/compiler distclean

make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=path/to/your/arm/compiler
omap3_beagle_defconfig

make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=path/to/your/arm/compiler menuconfig

toogle on whatever you want

than make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=path/to/your/arm/compiler uImage
modules

and there it goes...your uImage will be somewhere like arm/
bott/...can't remember

if your module is not included in the menuconfig Let's hope it comes
with a makefile rsrsrs than you can simply use the enviroment
variables make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=path/to/your/arm/compiler and
change the path to the kernel , I guess it is KERNEL_PATH=path/to/
kernel....this one I'm not sure..

If you don't hava a makefile cry rsrs or try compiling it inside the
beagleboard itself....althought I guess the Angstrom Images lack the
kernel source....if they do, I think it may take you a good time
playing with the compilers commands to achieve a cross compile....I
recommend codesourcery, worked for me.....

If it works, let us know ^^
