How to read serial data from a device?

Hello I am trying to read serial data from a device I can see the
device connect by doing the following...

root@beagleboard:/dev# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0409:005a NEC Corp.
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 050d:705e Belkin Components
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0403:6001 Future Technology Devices
International, Ltd FT
232 USB-Serial (UART) IC

The serial device I am trying to connect to is the Future Technology
Devices International (FTDI) chip Device 004. I cannot seem to find
the device anywhere else to configure it for example this site offers
help on how to setup the device....

http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Interfacing/LinuxTTY

The recommend

stty -F /dev/ttyUSB0 cs8 115200 ignbrk -brkint -icrnl -imaxbel -opost -
onlcr -isig -icanon -iexten -echo -echoe -echok -echoctl -echoke
noflsh -ixon -crtscts

make sure /dev/ttyUSB0 or whatever is your arduino, and 115200 is the
baud you did your Serial.begin(XXXX) with

But I cannot find a ttyUSB0. I can find tty0 and others like it but
that is all bellow is the directory I was looking in but I cannot find
anything in here that seems to work with the above setup code.

root@beagleboard:/# ls
bin dev home linuxrc mnt sbin tmp var
boot etc lib media proc sys usr
root@beagleboard:/# cd dev

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

what does lsmod say?
when you plug it in what does dmesg say?

Below is lsmod and dmesg ... Sorry for posting all of it.

I assume since lsusb says that the chip is device number three that...

usb 2-1.2: new full speed USB device using musb_hdrc and address 3
usb 2-1.2: device v0403 p6001 is not supported
usb 2-1.2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice

is the device shown in dmesg, but I am not sure, And it does not seem
to say the name like tty0 or usbtty0 anywhere so I am not sure hoe to
access it.

Thanks
