If you build qt4 with oe you get phonon as well.

hi.

do you mean that I only need to build qt with phonon, and I don’t need to do anything to the board,

can I hear the music sound from the stereo out jack without install gstreamer support on the board?

  1. need I intall any support packages on the board? how to do that?

2.My qt in OpenEmbedded don’t have phonon support currently. can I add it without rebuild Qt-Embedded?
bcz it’s a long time to build.

Hi.

does any one know this?

I want to use run application on beagle board. I copy every needed library to MMC card, include /usr/lib/libphononE.* , /usr/lib/qtopia/plugins/phonon_backend/libphonon_gstreamer.so

but when I done this, I only get some error and can not hear the sound from board:

WARNING: Phonon needs QCoreApplication::applicationName to be set to export audi
o output names through the DBUS interface
WARNING: bool Phonon::FactoryPrivate::createBackend() phonon backend plugin coul
d not be loaded
WARNING: bool Phonon::FactoryPrivate::createBackend() phonon backend plugin coul
d not be loaded

what’s the problem? Any help is appreciated.

thanks again.

Hi,

1)

*WARNING: Phonon needs QCoreApplication::applicationName to be set to export
audi
o output names through the DBUS interface

The error message tells it already. You need to give your app a
name,.otherwise DBUS won't work and DBUS is needed for Phonon.

in main.cpp something like:
    QApplication App( argc, argv );
    App.setApplicationName( "yourfavoritename" ); //needed for Phonon/
DBUS
will fix it.

2) The other 2 messages:
Phonon is only a wrapper around a media library. For Linux there
exists GStreamer, Xine (and in development MPlayer and VCL).
You need to have one of these installed - which I think you don't have
yet.

As I doubt you want to port Xine, MPlayer or VCL to the ARM platform,
you should try it with GStreamer.
GStreamer by itself is also only a wrapper around a media library, for
BB there is the OpenMax library (now) available. So you need to have
OpenMax installed as well.

And as far as I understood OpenMax is also a wrapper around the real
library, which is the DSP library.
How to get this installed (GStreamer, OpenMax and the DSP) is written
in the howto.

If it will work this way - I don't know.
But I would be very much interested if you test it, as I'm waiting for
the next revision of the BB till I buy one to test it on my own.

For any help on Phonon itself I will give my best in case you ask.
