I cannot make my USB 2 Ethernet (Trendnet UT2-ET100) work

Hi,
I try to make my USB 2 Ethernet (Trendnet UT2-ET100) work by connect it directly to the USB port of BeagleBoard. I try ping to other computer but it didn’t work. I use BeagleBoard B5 version. Kernel 2.6.29. And using console-image.
Could you please help me how to make it work?

first download the driver, then edit. > /etc/network/interfaces, after that reset the adapter > /etc/init.d/networking restart
